John 8:34 in the Weymouth New Testament: “Everyone who commits sin is the slave of sin.”
“Commit” makes it sound like it is intentional. The word “commit” is in the original text. So if we are not intentionally committing ourselves to do right, then are we doing wrong instead? Where are your commitments? Do your commitments make you a slave to doing right? What are you a slave to?
